Kitchen Companies – Who to Choose
The best kitchen manufacturer for you is a bit trickier to detect than you might guess. If you are are not an expert in this industry you would be surprised at many of the tactics employed. We can divide the different kitchens firms into 2 different groups. For the simpleness of this guide we will stick to just the 2.
The best position to commence is the more traditional way of doing things.
You will likely have seen this firms name around the immediate area for years. You may not have employed them before but you should know the name. If you have a look at the name badges of the staff you might detect that they have the same surname and they might well be father and son or father and daughter. As they do not turn over as many kitchens as the larger firms they haven’t got as great an marketing budget as them. These types of kitchen companies mostly do not spend as much money on advertising.
The fashionable style of kitchen company.
These firms are the ones that are household brands such as B and Q and Homebase. They buy low quality kitchens at really low prices and then they then high volume sell these to ill informed customers. The parts are sourced very cheaply but we are assured they are the best quality but only the foolish will fall for this method of marketing. It is clever but virtually all of us can see through it now.
I do not know why but this industry seems to be the worse industry for trying to fool customers. It is not an out and out scam but enough to make you think you are getting a really great deal when you are not. Other firms have a sale at Christmas but not the kitchen industry. They seem to have a sale on for most of the year.
You will see that the traditional kitchen company has in all probability been around for quite a while and they have in all probability been in the very same premises as well. They want to keep their good reputation and will bend over backwards to help sort out any problems. You will get extra peace of mind from this and that is why I like to deal with the more established types of kitchen firms. The more fashionable type of kitchen company will not offer this type of service as they usually only sell kitchens and therefore do not have their own fitters available to fix any snags. This then becomes a problem with fitters billing for their time.
General summary:
1)Go in as many kitchen showrooms as possible
2)Run the quote past friends and family
3)Be wary of a new firm that has few previous customers
I imagine you can work out for yourself which type of kitchen firm I would spend my money with. For those of you that cannot work it out is is the traditional company.
